December in Cameroon saw continued insecurity in the Far North and Anglophone regions. Boko Haram increased hostage-taking tactics in the Far North, while clashes between government forces and separatists persisted in the North West and South West. Nigerian Biafra rebels engaged in cross-border hostilities in the Bakassi peninsula. Concerns about the shrinking civic space in the country are on the rise as the government has suspended several NGOs and cracked down on civil society.

In December, UNFPA Cameroon provided a range of sexual and reproductive health services, including antenatal and postnatal care, family planning, STI diagnosis and treatment, and psychosocial support, reaching 14,636 people in Makary, Yagoua, and Kousseri. Through supported health facilities and 47 humanitarian midwives, UNFPA provided services such as antenatal care (ANC) to 2,576 pregnant women, assisted 2,677 women in giving birth, and managed 497 obstetric complications. UNFPA also provided postnatal care, contraceptive services, distributed medical equipment, and conducted GBV prevention and risk mitigation sessions. Additionally, UNFPA delivered dignity kits, conducted capacity-building training on GBV case management, and facilitated psychosocial support activities for women and girls.

The GBV AoR Coordination team's end-of-year meeting identified key priorities for 2025, including a GBV AoR training on a sectorial framework to strengthen reporting. UNFPA Cameroon also coordinated the 16 Days Campaign against GBV, with widespread engagement across multiple regions. Additionally, the online service mapping tool for updating GBV Referral pathways for the North West and South West has been finalized. UNFPA also held a coordination meeting on SRH in crisis settings, which reviewed progress, reaffirmed objectives, and initiated planning for 2025, focusing on challenges such as coordination, geographical coverage, monitoring, and SRH supplies in humanitarian zones.
