Now available! Inter-Agency Humanitarian Evaluation on gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls

The Inter-Agency Humanitarian Evaluation (IAHE) on gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls (GEEWG) identifies lessons, best practices and recommendations to improve the integration of GEEWG in humanitarian responses. UNFPA Evaluation Office was part of the evaluation management group, reflecting its commitment to system-wide evaluations and contributing to the UN reform process.
The evaluation found that there has been progress in mainstreaming GEEWG into humanitarian responses following the adoption of Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) Gender Policy in 2017. However, greater operationalization of GEEWG is constrained by a lack of predictable gender expertise and gaps in IASC coordination and accountability mechanisms.
