New evaluation provides evidence and lessons to end the AIDS epidemic and violence against women and girls

In commemoration of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, the Evaluation Offices of UNAIDS (chair), UNFPA, UNESCO, UNHCR and ILO have released an independent evaluation of the UN Joint Programme on AIDS on preventing and responding to violence against women and girls in all their diversity.
The evaluation, jointly managed by the five agencies, assesses the Joint Programme’s accountability to end violence against women and girls and the bi-directional nature of HIV and violence against women and girls.
Being a forward-looking evaluation, it assesses results achieved, identifies lessons learned, and presents strategic and practical recommendations for the Joint Programme. The lessons also support UNFPA in the realization of its strategic plan, 2022-2025, as it intensifies its focus to reach the furthest behind first.
