Available now, joint evaluability assessment of the Global Action Plan for Healthy Lives and Well-being for All

23 Jul 2020

The Global Action Plan for Healthy Lives and Well-being for All (the GAP) was launched in September 2019 at the UN General Assembly. It commits its 12 signatory agencies to more effective collaboration in order to help countries accelerate progress to achieve the health-related targets of the Sustainable Development Goals. The signatory agencies include Gavi – The Vaccine Alliance, the Global Financing Facility (GFF), The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, UNAIDS, UNDP, UNFPA, UNICEF, Unitaid, UN Women, the World Bank Group, WFP and WHO.

The joint evaluability assessment of the GAP was commissioned and managed by a Steering Group comprising representatives of the independent evaluation offices of all 12 signatory agencies of the GAP.

Within this context, the main objective of the joint evaluability assessment was to determine the extent to which the key strategic and technical elements for the GAP to succeed are in place at this early stage in the partnership. It aims to foster early learning among the signatory agencies – in the spirit of the “learning-by-doing” approach – and thus help the partners improve their coordination, collaboration and overall management toward results in the partnership moving forward.

The joint evaluability assessment report and additional details are available here.
