The Executive Board holds its annual session, with the UNFPA segment scheduled for 7 June. Executive Director Dr. Natalia Kanem will deliver a statement and morning topics include the final report on the implementation of the UNFPA Strategic Plan, 2018-2021 and analysis of the cumulative progress in achieving results, including response to COVID-19; a report on management responses to the Joint Inspection Unit’s 2021 recommendations; a financial review and statistical highlights regarding finances and programmes; and a humanitarian response update.
The afternoon will cover country programmes and the annual report on the evaluation function, with an eye toward evaluation as an accelerator in the implementation of the UNFPA Strategic Plan, 2022-2025, including informing the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and delivery of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
