Donor Rankings, 2023

6th Core Contributions
24th Non Core Contributions
13th Overall Contributions

Donor rankings include UN-to-UN transfers, which are UNFPA's top source of revenue overall.

Finland’s foreign and security policy is based on the rule of law, human rights, equality and democracy, and the rights of women and girls are promoted in a cross-cutting manner in Finland’s foreign policy. One of the priorities of Finland’s development policy is to improve the position, right to self-determination, and sexual and reproductive health of women.

Finland prioritizes support to UNFPA’s core funding, which is considered the most efficient investment in the Fund, as it enables long-term planning, flexible responses to emerging priorities, and sustainable support for human rights-based programmes that improve the lives of women and young people in developing countries.

Other key areas for collaboration with Finland include: protecting the rights and choices of women and girls of all abilities in Tanzania, supporting UNFPA’s activities in Somalia, empowering adolescents with disabilities in Iraq, and supporting UNFPA’s humanitarian activities in Ukraine.

Ville Tavio, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development
Owing to UNFPA’s efforts, a growing number of women and adolescent girls have access to modern contraceptives. Finland is committed to continuing its partnership with UNFPA in ensuring that girls and women can take control of their bodies and their futures, and therefore lead a life they want in the future.
Ville Tavio, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development
